While earlier rumors suggested that OUYA is looking to be sold, the recent rumors suggest that Razer is currently thinking on acquiring the Android console maker.
According to the report from CNET, while the agreement is not yet finalized, Razer might actually acquire OUYA. Citing undisclosed sources, CNET is reporting that both sides are currently looking into how to bring OUYA's staff aboard Razer.
While it had an impressive Kickstarter campaign, with over US $8.5 million from 63,000 backers, as well as got a decent media attention, the console launched back in summer of 2013 and did not make a big impact, mostly due to its focus on Android gaming.
Razer already has an Android OS based console, the Forge TV, which is based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 SoC, as well as Razer Serval controller which is usually bundled with the Forge TV, and is also working on Razer Cortex, software that could Stream games from the PC to the Android TV.
We will certainly keep an eye on the situation as both OUYA and Razer did not officially comment on this story.
