Apple announces WatchOS 2 at WWDC 2015

Update for Apple Watch OS

The new WatchOS 2 will be a major update for Apple Watch since its launch back in April and will include plenty of major improvements, including new watch faces, photo gallery, Time Travel, FaceTime Audio support, new watch face when the Apple Watch is charging and most importantly, the ability for developers to create native apps for the Apple Watch.

While the new watch faces are self-explanatory, Apple has also added an ability to add a personal photo to the background, the Photo Face feature, or even add a selection of timelapse watch faces of cities and parks.

The Time Travel feature will allow users to use the digital crown in order to move forward and backward in time in order to view past and future events. The FaceTime Audio support is also a big improvement as it will allow the Apple Watch users to call other people with other Apple devices or use Siri for email dictations as well.

There will be plenty of improvements for Apple Watch that are coming from iOS 9, including transit views and directions in the Apple Maps, as well as improvements to Apple Pay and the new Wallet App.

The new Apple WatchOS 2 is expected to launch alongside the new OS X El Capitan and iOS 9 this fall. The developer beta of WatchOS 2 will be available as of today.
