During Computex 2015 show, ASUS has unveiled three new high-end 7.1-channel sound cards under its well known STRIX brand, the STRIX RAID DLX, the STRIX RAID Pro, and the STRIX Soar.
Spotted by Techpowerup.com on the Computex show floor, all three new STRIX sound cards share the same base card design but have different features and DSPs.
All three are based on PCI-Express interface and the DAC component on each of these sounds cards is wired to an ESS SABRE 9006a chip which has 116dBA SNR for front output and separate 110dBA SNR DAC for headphone amplifier. Only the RAID DLX has a more powerful SABRE 9016a DAC for front output.
The headphone amplifier can handle 600 Ohm impedance and the RAID DLX and RAID Pro come with an external module with audio jacks and switches for audio feature controls, as well as volume control.
Software side of these new sound cards include Raid mode, which is positional audio, Sonic Radar features and a new Sonic Studio control panel interface.
Unfortunately, there is no word on the price or the availability date.
