As we already know, Nvidia is soon expected to launch its new Geforce GTX 980 Ti graphics card and judging from recent reports it appears that the launch is imminent. In addition, a new report has also revealed most of the specifications for the upcoming GM200-310 GPU.

According to a report coming from the Korean HWBattle site, the Geforce GTX 980 Ti will actually have fewer CUDA cores compared to the GTX Titan X.

Although some earlier reports suggested that it might be based on the same GPU with full 24 SMM (Streaming Multiprocessor Maxwell) enabled, it appears that the GM200-310 GPU will actually pack 20 SMMs, for a total of 2816 CUDA cores. The precise ROP count as well as the L3 cache amount are still unknown, but we do know that it will have 176 TMUs and 6GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 384-bit memory interface.

The GTX 980 Ti is also expected to use the same PCB and the same cooler as the GTX Titan X, which we also seen on some earlier graphics cards but, this time around, Nvidia AIC partners will be able to make custom versions at launch.

Earlier reports also suggested that Nvidia could wait for end of Summer with the GTX 980 Ti, but it appears that the company simply wants to put as much damage as possible on AMD's upcoming Radeon 300 series launch and the GTX 980 Ti was ready for quite some time.

In any case, it looks like we will soon see the Geforce GTX 980 Ti graphics card.
