Biostar's upcoming socket LGA1151 motherboard, the Gaming-Z170X, designed for Intel's 6th generation Core Skylake processors, has been pictured in full glory.
While still in its engineering sample state, the pictured Biostar Gaming-Z170X is pretty much what we can expect from LGA1151 motherboards once they hit the market. It comes with four DDR4 DIMM slots although some motherboards will also feature DDR3 DIMM slots, 14-phase CPU VRM and three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (x16, x8/x8 or x8/x4/x4 modes).
The rest of the features and specifications also include three SATA-Express 10Gbps ports or six SATA 6Gbps ports, two M.2 10Gbps ports, M.2 slot with mPCIe riser as well as plenty of Biostar exclusive features like Hi-Fi audio with 600? headphones AMP, ground-layer isolation and a 115 dBA SNR CODEC, Killer E2200 Ethernet, bunch of USB 3.0 ports with possibly some USB 3.1 ports, and plenty more.
While this is probably still not a final PCB color and it does not come with any heatsinks, it shows the general layout of the motherboard as well as the Z170 PCH chipset in its full glory.
There will be plenty of such motherboards during Computex 2015 show which kicks off next month.
