Fractal Design has announced its newest Define S PC case which is designed for silent computing without compromising airflow or cooling capabilities and with enthusiast-oriented features.
To be available in two versions, with and without a side panel window and single black color, the new Define S PC case from Fractal Design has 233x451x520mm dimensions and supports ATX, micro-ATX and mini-ITX motherboards. It has seven expansion slots, three 3.5-inch and two 2.5-inch drive bays, supports up to 300mm long ATX PSUs, up to 450mm long graphics cards and up to 180mm tall CPU coolers.
As noted, the new Define S case features an innovative internal layout which should provide a perfectly straight airflow path to the CPU heatsink when air cooling is used and also offers plenty of room for radiators if liquid cooling setup is used.
When it comes to cooling, the Define S has a total of nine fan positions (eight on the windowed side panel version) and comes bundled with two Fractal Design Dynamic GP14 140mm fans. To be precise, you can install three 120/140mm fans at the front, single 120/140mm fan at the rear, three 120/140mm fans at the top, single 120/140mm at the bottom and single 120/140mm on the side panel. Front and bottom fan places also come with dust filters.
As you could have seen from these fan mounting places, Define S can support up to 360mm long radiator at the front, 420x55mm radiator at the top, 120mm radiator at the bottom and 120/140mm radiator at the back.
It also comes with a long motherboard tray which should provide cleaner build as well as a 20-40mm space behind the motherboard tray for cable routing.
According to Fractal Design, the new Define S will be available soon with a price set at US $79.99/€89.99 for the standard and US $89.99/€99.99 for the Define S Windows version.
