According to a new report, Samsung has allegedly strike a deal with Google to provide it with its 3D V-NAND SSDs.
According to a fresh report coming from The Korea Times, Samsung has signed a to provide 3D V-NAND SSDs for Google's datacenters. While the precise details of the deal are unknown, if true, this deal will provide a huge boost for Samsung and push it ahead of the competition when it comes to developement of NAND technology.
According to the same report, Samsung's factory in Xian, China, should increase its annual shipments of 3D NAND chips from last year's estimated 480,000 wafers to 960,000 wafers. Samsung's TLC 3D V-NAND brings plenty of improvements as it stacks memory die on top of each other within single package and allows higher-density as well as improves both performance and reliability.
Samsung has released its first 3D NAND based SSDs back in October last year and you know them as the Samsung 850 EVO series.
