Google has unveiled quite a few new announcements regarding Chrome OS and Chromebooks recently, including the new ASUS Chromebit, a US $100 priced HDMI stick that will turn any HDMI display into a working Chrome OS system.

In order to keep the price at the minimum, the ASUS Chromebit is based on Rockchip RK3288 SoC, which feature four Cortex-A17 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and ARM Mali-T764 GPU. The Rockchip R3288 SoC is paired up with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The rest of the features include the aforementioned HDMI output on one side and USB 2.0 port on the other end, 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 for peripherals like keyboard and mouse. Of course, it runs on Google's Chrome OS.

While it does not sound that impressive when it comes to specifications, ASUS Chromebit does have a big plus, it is priced at US $100. While it might not "run Crysis", it can allow users to surf the web and send out emails on any display with HDMI input.

According to Google, the ASUS Chromebit should be available later this summer.
