While we did know that Star Citizen game will be an enormous launched, we never thought that it could end up to be a 100GB download.
According to Cloud Imperium Games developer, and its game operations director, Jeremy Masker, the client for the game, when it is done, could end up to be a 100GB download. With the final build including story missions, social spaces, first-person gameplay and more, it does not come as a surprise that you might go shopping for a new HDD once Star Citizen is out.
According to Masker, patches will be similar as in order to add all the assets to the patch, each patch could end up to be between 14 to 20GB.
While this is not a big problem on the PC, since both SSDs are getting cheap with high capacity and HDDs are well into terabyte territory, this might be one of the reasons why Star Citizen will never come to consoles.
