Battlefield 4 gets its Winter Patch

New game mode, bug fixes and performance improvements

EA/DICE has finally released the Winter Patch for Battlefield 4 which brings a new game mode as well as plenty of other general improvements and more.

The new Battlefield 4 Winter Patch is now available on all platform reaching 400MB on the PC and well over 1.3GB on consoles. As noted, the new patch will bring various performance improvements as well as bug fixes on the PC as well as consoles and will also bring the new Squad Obliteration game mode, which is probably the biggest update.

According to EA, the new Squad Obliteration game mode is described as he fast paced, objective based gameplay of the original Obliteration is scaled down to 5 vs 5 size – balanced and perfected for competitive play. Compared to the Obliteration mode, the Squad Obliteration has a few differences: no vehicles, no parachute spawns, secondary base spawns are available, first team to destroy two out of three bases wins the round and bomb carrier position is only known to the enemy team if spotted.

The new Battlefield 4 Winter Patch has an extensive release notes list which you can either find on Battlelog forum or even download a PDF document at the link below which shows some of the fixes. EA/DICE even included some audio, art as well as user interface improvements and fixes so you might want to check those as well.
