Just a week away from the rumored launch date, which is now confirmed for 22nd January, we have official slides confirming specifications of the upcoming Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 graphics card based on GM206 Maxwell GPU.


Videocardz.com did it again, revealing official slides for the upcoming Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 graphics card which will be based on the GM206 Maxwell GPU and pack 1024 CUDA cores, 2GB of GDDR5 memory and a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU ended up clocked at 1127MHz while the GPU boost clock is set at 1178MHz.

What is more surprising is the memory clock of 1753MHz with effective memory speed of 9.3Gbps, which is, according to Nvidia, 33 percent more efficient compared to Kepler GPUs. All of this is possible thanks to a 3rd generation color compression (delta compression) algorithm.

We already know that Maxwell GPUs are quite power efficient and the GM206 GPU and Geforce GTX 960 graphics card will not be an exception as it will have a 120W TDP and only need a single 6-pin PCI-Express power connector.

The new Geforce GTX 960 will be, according to Nvidia's slides, perfect graphics card for 1080p gaming at 60FPS and will be twice the power efficient compared to GTX 660. It will feature two DVI, HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort outputs.

The last slide also promises that the GTX 960 will be an overclocker's dream, as it will be easily overclockable to 1.5GHz for the GPU while memory will scale up from 7 to 7.5Gbps easily.

The leaked slides look legit and, in any case, we will not have to wait for long before we see the official launch scheduled for 22nd of January.
