Ubisoft rolls out Assassin's Creed: Unity patch

Massive 40GB on Xbox One for some users

Although it was said to be delayed, only for PC apparently, Ubisoft has now released the new Assassin's Creed: Unity patch that should fix most issues and bring massive fixes for the game. Unfortunately, there are some problems as the patch on the Xbox One turns to massive 40GB download for some users.

Currently pushed out to Xbox One and PS4, Assassin's Creed: Unity miracle patch that should fix most of the issues with the game, at least according to Ubisoft, has been only delayed for the PC, and is coming soon. While it should be 6.7GB on the PC, and, according to Ubisoft, "enhance frame rate for players involves replacing and updating portions of the Paris city map where we are seeing issues," that same patch is 40GB heavy on the Xbox One, which has created a lot of issues for some users.

The issue apparently happens when the patch is actually downloading the entire game rather than just the parts affected by the patch and Ubisoft is currently working with Microsoft to get that thing corrected. Currently, there is a workaround as you can uninstall the game and re-install it again which should result in reverting the patch size down to 6.7GB.

The patch on the PC should replaced big portions of the maps where game has previously suffered from frame drop issues and there are plenty of other performance improvements and bug fixes, according to Ubisoft, but we will wait and see when the company finally releases that patch for the PC.
