McIntosh releases new MHP1000 headphones

First try by a legendary brand

McIntosh is an American manufacturer of audio equipment. Its catalog is full of robust products of good quality and the company is now trying its luck in headphones market as well, with the new MHP1000 headphones.

The MHP1000 headphones is the first attempt by the American giant McIntosh to create a product worthy of the company name and we are looking at a closed headset design with large headphones and good finish.

Those headphones are equipped with 40mm transducers capable of reproducing sounds between 5 Hz and 20 kHz with an impedance of 200ohms. Its connectors are removable and interchangeable, and you are able to switch between a 1m cable ending with a 3.5 mm jack and a 3m cable with a 6.3mm jack.

A quality product always had a higher price, but McIntosh might have pushed it a bit too far with an MSRP of 2500€. Audiophiles will certainly appreciate it but this is definitely out of the range for a mere mortal.
