There have been plenty of iPhone mini rumors before and while we did not see it launched alongside the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the fresh report coming from Taiwan suggest that Apple might still unveil a smaller iPhone next year.
Citing parts supplier sources,
Feng.com suggest that Apple still wants to have a smaller iPhone in its product lineup. While iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C are now holding out that part of the market, there have been plenty of rumors that Apple plans to discontinue the iPhone 5C next year, which will only leave the iPhone 5S, which will most likely get a price drop.
It is still not clear if the new 4-inch iPhone will be positioned above the iPhone 5S, as a compact premium, or alongside the iPhone 5S as a budget mainstream-oriented smartphone.
In any case, Apple is quite happy with sales of the two new big iPhones and we doubt that Apple will shift its main focus from larger screen smartphones.
