Acer announces new V Nitro Black Edition notebook

Coming with 4K/UHD screen and GTX 860M GPU

Acer has unveiled its newest V Nitro Black Edition Series notebook which is already available in two versions, the V15 and V17. The V15 series has been heavily updated and will now feature not only a rather decent specifications with Intel's Core i7 CPU and Nvidia Geforce graphics card but also come with an impressive 15.6-inch 4K/UHD LED backlit IPS screen.

As noted, the new Acer V Nitro Black series V15 notebook will be based on Intel's 4th generation Core i7-4710HQ 3.5GHz clocked quad-core CPU, Nvidia's Geforce GTX 860M GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 memory as well as 16GB of RAM, all in order to power a rather impressive 15.6-inch 4K/UHD LED backlit IPS screen with 3840x2160 resolution. In case you are calculating, that is 283ppi of pixel density.

Being just 24mm thick and 2.4kg heavy, the Acer V Nitro Black is a sleek looking notebook as well while the rest of its specifications and features include dual-band 802.11abng WiFi, 256GB of SSD storage backed by a 1TB HDD, three USB 3.0 ports and Gigabit Ethernet.

While the Geforce GTX 860M might provide you with decent performance on a 4K/UHD resolution, we are wondering why Acer did not go for recently unveiled GTX 900M Maxwell-based GPU, so hopefully we will see a new update quite soon.

The new Acer V Nitro Black Edition series should already be available in the US starting at $1499.99, while it should hit retail/e-tail in Europe sometime during this month.
