HTC has now announced that its HTC One M8 and HTC One M7 will be updated to Android 5.0 Lolipop within next 90 days from now. According to HTC, they have received the source code from Google and are now working hard on the update.

It is quite strange that HTC has just received the source code considering that Google should have provided that same source code to OEMs much earlier and considering the fact that it was that same HTC that made Nexus 9 so should had access to the Android 5.0 Lolipop source code.

While HTC did not reveal any details regarding other smartphones that are destined to get the same update, it is good to know that you now at least have a certain date when to expect your HTC One M8 or HTC One M7 to get an update.
