According to Wedbush Morgan, Microsoft's Xbox One has managed to outsell Sony's Playstation 4 in September, at least in the U.S.
According to a report from Wedbus Morgan analyst, Michael Patcher,
caught by VentureBeat, Microsoft has managed to sell around 325,000 Xbox One consoles in retail during the last month while Sony managed to sell around 250,000. Same report suggest that Microsoft's deal which offered free Destiny game pushed some users to Xbox One, rather than Playstation 4, where the game was not free.
In a note to investors, Patcher noted that “we expect Xbox One sales to exceed those of the PS4 for only the second month since launch. From Sept. 7 through 13, Microsoft offered a free game with the purchase of a new Xbox One at participating retailers."
September was quite an important month for console makers as Destiny was launched and Microsoft was quite to jump on it as well as offer its Madden 15 bundle.
Of course, we still have to wait for the NPD report which is due this Thursday, so we will know more. The biggest period for both consoles is still to come as holiday shopping season is just around the corner.
