Philips has now announced its competitor to the G-SYNC equipped ASUS monitor, the 272G5DYEB. Based on a 27-inch screen with 144Hz, 16:9 aspect ratio and FullHD 1920x1080p resolution, the 272G5DYEB has support for NVIDIA's frequency synchronization technology, the G-SYNC.
Monitors equipped with the NVIDIA G-SYNC technology from are not numerous and it is Philips' turn to present its reference model with the 272G5DYEB.
This 27-inch 144Hz 16:9 FullHD 1920 x 1080 screen is equipped with a TFT-LCD (TN) panel with W-LED backlighting. Its display frequency ranges from 30 Hz to 150 Hz, has viewing angle of 170°/160° (horizontal/vertical) and a GTG response time of 1ms.
The stand is adjustable in both height and angle and it is equipped to take advantage of NVIDIA's G-SYNC which should deal with tearing and stuttering, at least if you have a graphics card compatible and capable of displaying 1080p resolution at 144Hz. It is also compatible with 3D Vision (3D glasses not included). It comes with one DisplayPort 1.2 input and four USB 3.0 ports with a fast-charging.
While Philips announced the 272G5DYEB it should be available by the end of October with a price of €699, which just might be a bit on the high side.
