With 13-inch Yoga Tablet 2 Pro model with projector
Lenovo has unveiled a new line of its Yoga Tablet 2 devices, including the newest 13-inch Yoga Tablet 2 Pro which, again developed with Ashton Kutcher, packs some decent features as well as an integrated projector.
While earlier Yoga Tablet devices were not that successful, the new Yoga Tablet 2 lineup might have a brighter future. The most interesting is the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro which is designed around a 13-inch QHD 2560x1440 screen, powered by yet to be detailed Intel's Atom CPU and even features an integrated pico projector which will, according to Lenovo, allow you to project a 16:9 image on any surface for "an instant 50-inch theater experience" for up to three hours on a charge.
The rest of the specifications for the 13-inch Yoga Tablet 2 Pro include 32GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card slot, WiFi and optional 4G connectivity model, 8-megapixel camera, stereo front speakers and subwoofer for 8W of sound, and Android OS. It also comes with a recognizable Yoga hinge which doubles as a kickstand and now with an ability to hang the tablet. The battery should be enough for around 15 hours of usage, according to Lenovo.
While not exactly the best tablet on the market, especially due to its US $499.99 price tag, the new Yoga Tablet 2 Pro definitely stands out with its integrated projector.
In addition to the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro, Lenovo has also unveiled two new Yoga Tablet 2 devices, in 8- and 10-inch sizes. These new Yoga Tablet 2 devices have a slightly refreshed design and Lenovo switched from Mediatek chip to Intel Atom chip, which should give them a slight performance boost. Both have also got a boost in screen resolution to 1920x1200 and both will be available with either Android 4.4 and Windows 8.1 OS, depending on your choice. Both models also got a sturdier hinge as well as the "hang mode".
Both the 8- and 10-inch Yoga Tablet 2 devices, priced at US $249.99 and US $299.99, should be available as of today in their Android versions, while Windows versions are expected at a later date with a slightly higher price tag.
