Apple confirms October 16th event

Possible new iPads, iMacs and Macbook

There have been quite a few rumors regarding Apple's upcoming event scheduled for October 16th and now Apple has finally confirmed the event by sending out invites.

While it does not say anything regarding the products it will launch at the October 16th event, recent rumors point out that we might see the new iPad Air 2 as well as the 3rd generation iPad mini. Apple's invite only notes that "It's been way too long".

Other rumors also suggest that we might see the recently rumored new iMacs with 5K display and AMD Radeon hardware as well as the recently spotted 12-inch Macbook. Apple is also expected to formally announce the public release of the OS X 10.10 Yosemite that it has unveiled back at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2014.

The new iPads are pretty much confirmed and those should have most likely come with Touch ID fingerprint sensor in order to support Apple Pay. You can also expect them to be thinner and lighter as well as feature the shiny new Apple A8 SoC which powers the already available iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

In any case, October 16th should be well marked in your calendars.
