In addition to the Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 and GTX 970 which were launched as a part of Gigabyte's G1 Gaming edition series, Gigabyte has now silently launched yet another factory-overclocked GTX 970 graphics card, the Gigabyte GTX 970 Windforce 3X OC (GV-N970WF3OC-4GD).


While we already had a chance to check out Gigabyte's GTX 980 G1 Gaming graphics card in our review lab, the new GTX 970 Windforce 3X OC should not be bad either considering that it still has a decent factory overclock as well as the well known Windforce 3X triple-fan cooler. While it was not officially announced by Gigabyte, the new GTX 970 Windforce 3X OC is already live on Gigabyte's product page as well as available in some retail/e-tail shops.




As noted, the Gigabyte GTX 970 Windforce 3X OC features a decent factory-overclock with the base GPU clock set at 1114MHz and GPU Boost set at 1253MHz. It still comes with 4GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 256-bit memory interface and clocked at reference 1750MHz (7.0GHz effective). While the base clock is still lower than the one on the G1 Gaming edition, it is still a decent boost from reference 1050/1178MHz.

Gigabyte decided to equip this one with its latest dual-slot triple-fan Windforce 3X cooler. It packs three 80mm fans and a hefty heatsink which should have no trouble in cooling down the 28nm GM204 GPU. In case you missed it earlier, the GM204 on the GTX 970 graphics card packs 1664 CUDA cores, 104 TMUs and 64 ROPs.




The GTX 970 Windforce 3X OC also comes with a rather interesting display output configuration with two DVI, single HDMI 2.0 and three DisplayPort 1.2 outputs. Thanks to Flex Display feature, up to four outputs can be used at the same time.




Unfortunately for most markets, the Gigabyte GTX 970 Windforce 3X OC is currently only listed in Germany with a price set at €339.
