Microsoft to open a store in Manhattan

Not far from the Apple Store

It has been a few years, five to be precise, since Microsoft has started to look for a place to open up a luxury boutique in Manhattan, and it seems like they finally managed to find the right place.

To open a store in the New York, especially if you are talking about Manhattan, is not an easy job at all. You are not just opening a shop, you are actually placing yourself in the core of the city that never sleeps.

In order to be sure that the store will gain the maximum visibility, Microsoft found a location on the famous Fifth Avenue at 677, not far from the Apple Store, which is at 767. This is an ideal position, between a great number of luxury boutiques.

Once they chose the location, they had to pay the rent, which is just 2789$ per square meter, for a total of 100 square meters, you can do the math. We will discover soon enough if Microsoft will manage to lure its fans to the Fifth Av. Store, just like Apple does every time they release a new product.

Between the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, Microsoft already opened up to 104 official stores, but this time they are not opening just a store, they are getting themselves in one of the most important shopping avenues of the world.
