Republic of Gamers, the notorious gaming brand of Asus, unveiled yet two more gaming laptop, designed for high performances. The first one is the G551 with a 15.6” screen, the secondi s the G771 with a 17.3” screen.
The G771 measures 415x280x35.6mm and it weighs 3.4kg, while the G551 measures 383x255x31.5mm and it weighs 2.7kg. Both the 15.6” and the 17.3” panel features an antiglare finish, Full HD IPS panel, or Full HD TN, or even HD (1366x768), depending on what you choose. Inside, you’ll find an i7 4710HQ with 4 cores, 8 threads and a 2.5/3.5GHz clock, or an i5 4200H with 2 cores, 4 threads and a 2.8/3.4GHz clock. They both features a minimum of 16GB of DDR3L-1600 memory, and a GTX 860M based on the GM107 Maxwell chip.
As far as storage is concerned, you can choose between a 750GB/1TB 7200RPM HDD, or a 750GB/1TB/1.5TB 5400 RPM HDD. If you want speed, you can choose a 256GB SSD (128GB model available on the G771), or even a 64GB SSD for cache on the G551, and a 256/512GB M.2 SSD on the G771.
They both feature 802.11abgn WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0. As far as connections are concerned, you find a LAN port, three USB 3.0 on the G551 and four on the G771, an SD/MMC reader, a DisplayPort and an HDMI. You’ll find a 5200mAh battery and a 120W power supply unit. Prices are still unknown, but they shouldn’t be very cheap.
