Samsung made a lot of noise with its Gear VR headset during IFA 2014 show in Berlin and currently this virtual reality headset is finally available for pre-order with a US $249 price tag.
In case you missed it during IFA 2014, the Samsung Gear VR is powered by Oculus VR but, unlike Oculus Rift, uses Galaxy Note 4 smartphone for screen and processing power. Since the Galaxy Note 4 uses 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED screen, the picture should be much better than the FullHD picture that Oculus Rift DK2 has.
While it is currently up for pre-order with a US $249 price tag, Samsung still did not reveal the precise launch date for the Gear VR, but all bets are that it will be available as of next month.
