A few days ago have been released several models based on X99 however ASRock, at an event held in Taiwan, unveiled a new high-end model equipped with a huge amount of SATA ports.
The X99 Extreme 11 is based on E-ATX form factor and features Super Alloy components (with aluminum heatsinks, premium alloy chokes, dual-stack MOSFETs, 12K platinum capacitors) with 12 phase. ASRock X99 Extreme 11 is compatible with up to 128GB of DDR4 and there are eighteen SATA 6 Gbps ports, two Ultra M.2 and four PCIe x16 slots. The model is characterized from a huge heatsink placed on PCH with an active cooling solution in order to cool down the extra heat from the storage solution. The heatsink is connected with a single and thick heatpipe to the VRM cooling area.
Since eighteen ports is a very big amount, ten ports are wired directly to Intel PCH while the other eight are based on an additional SAS controller. In addition, there are two Gigabit Ethernet ports, Purity Sound 2 7.1 and the display DebugLED.
On the I/O panel there are four USB 2.0, four USB 3.0, dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, two e-SATA ports, a PS/2 port, CMOS Reset and a 7.1 Channel audio jack. ASRock has not revealed the pricing of the motherboard.
