According to the latest analyst report, a total of 92 percent of all PC game sales were digital during last year and that figure will be growing over the next few years.
According to a report from DFC Intelligence, the digital sales of PC games have accounted for 92 percent of all PC game worldwide sales in 2013. The main reason for this success is probably Valve's Steam platform. Of course, many of the latest and quite popular game titles like DotA 2 were completely digital.
Electronic Arts has reported that only 20 percent of its sales were digital but since EA has titles on every platform available that does not come as a surprise.
The same report suggests that the percent of digital bought games will rise over the next few years which certainly is not a great news for retail game stores.
