After the release of Oculus Rift Developer Kit 2, they finally released a new version of the SDK. This new version replace the Beta 0.4.0, fixing a few problems and adding support to Mac OS X.
The Oculus Rift Developer Kit 2 has been released with SDK 0.4.0. This allowed a great number of developers to start working on it, but this particular version had a lot of bugs that needed a fix.
The SKD 0.4.1 fixes some of them. You no longer need SSE4.1 instructions, so you can work with older AMD processor, you can also work with any software that was developed on SKD 0.3.X, which wasn't possible using SDK 0.4.0.
Last but not least, Oculus Rift is finally supportin Mac OS X, so that even Mac developers can enjoy what Oculus Rift can offer. To give a first taste of it, the Oculus Runtime and the Unity Tuscani demo have been converted to Mac OS X. If you want to try them, you just need to reach the Oculus Developer Center with a valid account.
