Acer unveils the new Chromebook 13 notebook

With Tegra K1 SoC

Acer has unveiled a new Chromebook 13 model which will be based on a 13-inch screen and Nvidia's Tegra K1 SoC.

To be available in two versions, with 13.3-inch 1366x768 and 13.3-inch 1920x1080 screens, the new Acer Chromebook will be powered by Nvidia's Tegra K1 SoC with quad-core ARM Cortex A15 CPU and 192 Kepler-based GPU cores.

The new Acer Chromebook 13 is not a half bad looking system either as, according to Acer, it is only 1.7cm thick and weighs only 1.5kg. It will also offer "spacious" keyboard and come with 802.11ac 2x2 MIMO WiFi, two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI output and 720p HD webcam.

According to Acer, the 13.3-inch HD version of the Chromebook 13 should be able to run for around 13 hours on battery while the 13.3-inch Full HD version should hit 11.5 hour mark.

Unfortunately, Acer did not reveal any details regarding the rest of the features, most probably due to wide variety of SKUs. Acer also did not reveal any details regarding the price or the availability date.
