Phison Electronic Corporation has announced its latest quad-core SATA 6Gbps SSD controller, the PS3110. Based on a quad-core processor, the PS3110 supports latest generation 1Ynm/1Znm SLC, MLC and TLC NAND.
When paired up with currently available 1Ynm MLC NAND memory, the PS3110 is capable of delivering up to 550MB/s sequential read and up to 530MB/s sequential write performance with random 4K read and write of up to 100k and 90k IOPS. The new PS3110 also supports capacities of up to 2TB, has S.M.A.R.T support and a couple of other advanced features.
With AES-256 engine and P-fail features options, the PS3110 is able to offer a comprehensive line of products across multiple market segments, including client, industrial, entry-level enterprise and data center SSD solutions.
Most importantly, the new PS3110 controller is the first SSD controller from Phison that supports the upcoming TLC NAND flash and able to offer SSD solution for entry-level SSD market.
"With the various consolidations in the SSD flash controller market, finding a partner with a proven track record and years of SSD experience is becoming more difficult," said Mike McClimans, Sr. Director and General Manager of SMART Modular's Flash Product Line. "We believe the Phison's PS3110 will be a strong contender in the high-end SATA-III controller space."
"We are extremely excited about our latest PS3110 controller. While Phison's current controllers PS3108 and PS3109 has successfully built Phison as a top-tier SSD solution supplier, PS3110 widens our support to high-performing client and entry-level enterprise market." said KS Pua, CEO of Phison Electronics.
Phison is currently shipping its PS3110 quad-core SSD controller to its SSD partners and the production ramp up is expected in Q3 2014.
