SPAM is a global problem. Every single person who is connected to the internet experienced, and will continue to, the problems connected to spam. SOPHOS made a study, showing the world a few numbers to better understand the size of the problem.
To be precide, SOPHOS made two different studies. The first one shows us the global volume of SPAM per country, and you can see the results on the following image:
The United States are the biggest SPAM source of the world, but Europe is right behind it. Unfortunately we don't have data about a great number of countries, so we can't have a global idea of the problem. The second study shows us the amount of SPAM per person in each country:
We have a different situation here: USA went down to the 12th place, while Russia and China are not even on the list. The numbers SOPHOS is showing are definitely not complete, but they have the merit to start the conversation about spam-generating malwares that keep infesting every single PC in the world. Cleaning it up it's not that difficult, and by doing so you can help reducing the net pollution. When was the last time you checked your PC for malwares?
