EA announces new EA Access, subscription for games

Exclusive to Xbox One for now

Electronic Arts has announced its new games subscription service called the Access, which will be exclusive to the Xbox One and offer EA games for a single, flat rate.

Similar to what Netflix is doing with its video content, Electronic Arts has decided to launch a subscription based service, the EA Access, which will offer EA games for a single fee of US $4.99 per month or US $29.99 per year.

Currently available only in beta, EA expects that it will roll out the Access to all Xbox One users pretty soon. For starters, EA Access will offer four games, Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25 and Peggle 2 but promises that more games are on their way.

The membership to the EA Access will also include a 10 percent discount on all EA digital content, including games available via Xbox Games Store, as well as early access to upcoming games including Dragon Age: Inquisition, Madden NFL 15, NHL 15, FIFA 15 and NBA Live 15.

Electronic Arts will offer the EA Access for US $29.99 per year or US $4.99 per month and it will also be available in retail shops like GameStop in the US, Europe and Canada. Hopefully, EA will extend the EA Access to all other platforms as well.
