Biostar has unveiled yet another motherboard based on Intel's B85 Express chipset which supports Intel's 4th generation Core i5 and Core i7 LGA 1150 CPUs and is more aimed at IT departments in both small and larger companies.
According to Biostar, the new Hi-Fi B85S2G offers business-rich option at a value price when compared to competition. As far as the specs go, the Hi-Fi B85S2G supports Intel 4th generation Core i7, Core i5, Core i3 and Pentium LGA 1150 CPUs with 95W maximum TDP, feature two DDR3 DIMM memory slots with support for up to 16GB of DDR3-1600 memory and packs PCI-Express x16 3.0, PCI-Express x16 2.0 (x4), PCI-Express x1 2.0 and three legacy PCI slots.
It also comes with four SATA 6Gbps and two SATA 3Gbps ports, up to four USB 3.0 (two via header) and six USB 2.0 (four via header) ports, features dual Gigabit Ethernet and 7.1-channel audio, as well as HDMI, D-Sub and DVI outputs. What makes it stand out of the crowd, and makes it usable for companies is definitely the dual Gigabit Ethernet, 100 percent solid capacitors, support for Intel Small Business Advantage (Intel SBA) and Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST) as well as serial and printer port headers, something that most companies need but you do not find on newer motherboards.
According to Biostar, the Hi-Fi B85S2G is Windows 8 ready and have BIOSTAR's BIO-Remote2 and BIOS Online Update features.
Unfortunately, Biostar did not shed any light regarding the actual price or the availability date for the new Hi-Fi B85S2G motherboard.
