Intel quietly expands Atom Z3700 lineup

Adds three new parts

Intel has quietly expanded its Atom Z3700 series lineup by adding three new parts, the Atom Z3736F, the Z3736G and the Z3785. These Atom Z3700 Bay Trail-T SoCs are mostly aimed at tablets and all feature four Silvermont CPU cores.

As noted, the entire Intel Atom Z3700 Bay Trail-T lineup of SoCs are based on four Silvermont CPUs, 2MB of L2 cache and either a single- or dual-channel DDR3 memory controller as well as integrated on-chip GPU, powered by Intel's 7th generation graphics architecture.

The new lineup includes the higher-end Atom Z3785 which works at slightly higher 1.49GHz base CPU clock and 2.41GHz GHz Turbo CPU clock as well as higher Turbo GPU frequency set at 833MHz. This one is most likely aimed at premium 10-inch tablets priced at US $200 and higher. The Atom Z3736F and the Z3736G are mostly aimed at budget tablets but have a slightly higher Turbo CPU clock speed, which should make them a bit faster than earlier available Atom Z37365F and the Atom Z3735G parts.

Hopefully, Intel will manage to get these new parts in as many tablets as it can and we will eventually see them on retail/e-tail shelves.
