ASRock has announced that its ASRock Z97 OC Formula motherboard now holds two new world records and is actually ranked the world's No.1 at HWBOT.org. This comes as a result of overclocking venture by John Lam, HKEPC OC overclocker, who managed to push the Core i7-4770K up to a rather incredible 7181.23MHz on this motherboard.
As if the CPU overclock was not enough, John Lam also managed to score 1601 marks in Intel XTU benchmark with the same combination of the ASRock Z97 OC Formula motherboard and the Core i7-4770K CPU.
According to ASRock, all of this was possible due to the fact that the Z97 OC Formula was designed and fine-tuned by Nick Shih, one of the well known overclockers, as well as the fact that the Z97 OC Formula features ASRock's Super Alloy Technology with XL Aluminum Alloy Heatsink for fast heat dissipation, Premium Alloy Choke which largely lowers working temperature, Dual-Stack MOSFET for more efficient CPU Vcore power, and NexFET MOSFET which provides DRAM power more efficiently and resistance against electrostatic discharge up to 15KV.
The Motherboard also comes with the 4-Phase Memory power design as well as Multiple Filter Cap, Hi-Density Power Connector, 12 Phase CPU Power design, 8 Layer PCB, 4 x 2oz copper and some BIOS features exclusive to the ASRock motherboards.
