We managed to get some alone-time during Computex 2014 with Gigabyte's mini-ITX GA-Z97N-Gaming 5 motherboard and grab quite a few detailed pictures of this feature-packed Z97 Express chipset based motherboard.
As we wrote earlier, the Gigabyte GA-Z97N-Gaming 5 is based on Intel's Z97 Express chipset with LGA1150 socket and will pack some impressive features considering that this is just a mini-ITX motherboard. Featuring a 6-phase CPU VRM part which draws power from 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors, the GA-Z97N-Gaming 5 will pack enough punch to even cope with the new Devil's Canyon CPUs.
The list of specifications and features start with a single PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot as well as a mini PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slot which is populated by 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth card. It also comes with two DIMM memory slots as well as five SATA 6Gbps ports.
As you can see from the pictures below, the back I/O is packed with gold-plated DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, Killer E2200 Gigabit Ethernet, bunch of USB ports and gold-plated audio ports coming from Realtek's ALC1150 HD audio. The new GA-Z97N-Gaming 5 mini-ITX motherboard also packs Gigabyte's Ultra Durable package with Black Solid CAPs, Audio Noise Guard, high-end Nichicon audio capacitors and more.
The Gigabyte GA-Z97N-Gaming 5 definitely looks like a proper high-end mini-ITX gaming motherboard ready for building some serious small form-factor (SFF) gaming PC.
