According to our sources
MSI is working on yet another Gaming series motherboard but in a now rather popular mini-ITX form-factor. The upcoming motherboard should be based on Intel Z87 Express chipset and offer
MSI's Gaming series features including Killer Ethernet and most likely Audio Boost technology.
Although we are still not sure about all the details regarding the upcoming
MSI Z87I Gaming motherboard, we are pretty sure that it will be quite similar to
MSI's already available Z87I motherboard, just with a few extras like the USB DAC Power, Audio Boost, and Killer E2200 Gigabit Ethernet.
Specification wise, the new mini-ITX Z87I Gaming series should feature two DDR3 DIMM memory slots with support for up to 32GB of DDR3-3000(OC) memory, single PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot in case you want to pair it up with a dedicated graphics card, four SATA 6Gbps ports, couple of USB 3.0/2.0 ports and
MSI Gaming features like
MSI Gaming Device Port, Military Class 4 components, OC Genie 4, ClrCMOS, Power and Reset on board buttons.
Some of our sources are also suggesting that even the mini-ITX Z87 Gaming series motherboard is not the last surprise that
MSI has with its Gaming series and that we will see more pretty soon. The red on black color scheme is certainly nice and we are sure looking forward to check out what other surprises
MSI has for its Gaming series.
