Re: SLi 780 DCUII OC's #12
So, I derped.

Ok, cpu is at 4.5 now I also updated the OP, ram didn't want to do 1166mhz today
Ok, so I've been playing some Metro Last Light. I'm a few hours in on some rail cart in a long tunnel. I'm just going along in the game not doing anything special (except shitting ma pants )
I'm using Fraps for the Benchmarking and am running 240 second runs. Everythign is being run on my Dell U2711 so I have decided to do a 1920x1080 run and a proper 2560x1440 run
I'm running max everything minus vsync, Motion blur set to low (lowest it'll go - I hate motion blur) and SSAA set to 2x (max is 4). Results are as follows

1920x1080
Min Max Avg
57 153 99.067

2560x1440
Min Max Avg
41 88 62.450

Seems from this there is a bit of a difference between the two resoloutions :p
Whilst playing at 1440p, I didn't really discover any stuttering, quite surprised on the minimums on both results to be honest. Felt smooth and consistent..
I'll be happy to continue at 1440p, especially considering this is a single player game

Stay tuned for Battlefield 3

If 51 is minimum framerate, you really won't be able to seen any kind of stuttering!

Cool, so the two 780 OC can run 1440p smoothly you say

I must admit, I'm disappointed :p
hahaha nah, I mean, Last Light was released like May this year and is still one of the best looking games out there. The texture detail is just epic, lighting even more so. I am actually surprised only 2 780's do that well at 1440p. I've definitely not had any issues due to frame rates whilst playing. Not had any issues at all in fact

So... ok yes. They can run it smoothly. If this were Multiplayer, I would turn some settings down to bring the minimum and average up a bit

Should be Interesting in BF3, epic looking game too, and I only play Multiplayer there. I will be wanting a smooth constant 60fps minimum

Yeah yeah, don't get your knickers in a knot

Ok, next up is Battlefield 3
I ran the 1440p test and decided it was stupid doing 1080p... The smoothness and frames that I got at 1440p are more than enough to answer ANY questions about 1080p
So, I played some Gulf of Oman from the Back to Karkand expansion. Mmmmmm BF2 maps
This time around I spared next to nothing Everything was max, vsync was off as was Motion Blur (I still hate that shit). I ran 5 240 second tests, as the first one gave me a minimum of 5 fps, which I believe to be server lag (Go EA...). I've excluded that one and taken an average from the rest of them.

BF3 at 2560x1440
Min Max Avg
66.25 187.5 115.773

From these results, you can see that these cards rape this game... If you ever had any doubts about 1080p. let them be laid to rest here
As for 1440p, when I get back to playing some more BF3, I don't think I'm going to bother turning some AA or AF down, there simply isn't a point

Re: SLi 780 DCUII OC's #19
So, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition. I have only just started the game and ran 2 4 minute benchies. The average of those two are below.
Everything max, motion blur off, high res textures on.

2560x1440
Min Max Avg
76.5 155 104.431

Seems Crysis 2 is happy with Dual 780's...
What else can I say? The numbers just speak for themselves

Re: SLi 780 DCUII OC's #20
Borderlands 2 is much the same story, again, everything max!
I made sure as to get into a decent firefight during my run

2560x1440
Min Max Avg
69 193 124.763

I will be testing FarCry 3 soon, maybe that can bring the frame rates down at this resoloution :p
