The German-based Aqua Computer liquid cooling company has announced its own idea on how to cool the recently released AMD Radeon R9 295X2 dual-GPU flagship graphics card with a full-cover water block which features a rather interesting design.
Since this is a full cover water block design, it will cool both GPUs, memory, VRM part as well as the PLX PCIe bridge chip which connects the two GPUs. Made from a 2.72kg high-purity electrolytic copper and featuring 0.5mm grid micro-structure over GPUs, it should allow an even temperature on both GPUs.
According to Aqua Computer, the contact surface is high-gloss polished and in order to squeeze every bit of the performance, the water block allows the use of thermal grease for memory as well. The new water block from Aqua Computer feature a rather unique and cool design with a Plexiglas cover made from a solid block which is held in place by a steel frame in order to get an evenly distributed pressure. The block features a standard G1/4" fittings as well as a changeable connection terminal in case you decide to go for quad-Crossfire setup. In order to make the design a bit more interesting, the block features a little map of Hawaii as well as an engraved volcano.
The new water block will be available in both copper and nickel-plated base version with clear or smoked Plexiglas top and priced at €169.90 and €184.90, respectively. Aqua Computer will also offer an optional passive and active backplate which should be available in May.
