This day will be definitely marked by the launch of the GTX 780 Ti, the new Nvidia graphics card that will definitely allow Nvidia to regain the top performance crown from the recently launched Radeon R9 290X. MSI, like most if not all AIC partners will, has launced its own Geforce GTX 780 Ti based on Nvidia's reference design.
Based on pretty much the same PCB as the GTX 780 and the GTX Titan, the Geforce GTX 780 Ti is based on the 28nm GK110 GPU with 2880 CUDA cores, 240 TMUs, 48 ROPs and 3GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 384-bit memory interface. The GPU is clocked at 876MHz with 928MHz GPU Boost clock while memory ended up at 7.0GHz. It will also feautre Nvida GPU Boost 2.0, PhysX and TXAA technologies as well as recently announced Nvidia G-Sync.
The new MSI GTX 780 Ti graphics card is cooled by pretty much the same cooler we have seen on the GTX 780 and the GTX Titan and it will still need 8+6-pin PCI-Express power connectors in order to work. The output list includes HDMI, DisplayPort and two DVI outputs.
We are still a couple of hours away from the official launch when we will see first official reviews of the new GTX 780 Ti, but according to everything we have seen so far, it should have no trouble in regaining the performance crown.
