ASUS Z270 STRIX and TUF motherboards detailed

STRIX, TUF and standard series

In addition to the Z270 motherboards that will be a part of the Maximus IX lineup and carry the Republic of Gamers badge, we get to check out ASUS' Z270 motherboards that are part of STRIX, TUF and standard edition series.

Leaked by Wccftech.com, ASUS' upcoming Z270 motherboard lineup is quite extensive and in addition to three ROG Maximus IX motherboards, the Maximus IX Formula, the Maximus IX Code and the Maximus IX Hero, ASUS will have a couple of Z270 motherboards that will be a part of its STRIX, TUF and standard lineup.

The ASUS Z270 STRIX lineup will include three motherboard, the STRIX Gaming Z270E, STRIX Gaming Z270F and the STRIX Gaming Z270G.

The STRIX Gaming Z270E is based on a standard ATX form-factor and uses ASUS metallic black and silver color scheme with an impressive heatsink design and AURA RGB technology. It has a somewhat weaker 8+2+1-phase digital VRM but still comes with 10K black metallic capacitors, MicroFine Alloy Chokes, NexFET PW (Power) block MOSFET and DIGI+ Power Control Utility as well as the ASUS Extreme Engine Digi+ technology.

The specification and feature list is similar to some ASUS ROG motherboards, and it even comes with integrated 802.11ac WiFi, SupremeFX S1220A codec, AURA RGB headers and two M.2 PCIe 3.0 slots. The only thing that we find different is the actual layout and slightly different design as well as somewhat lower support for DDR4-3866 memory.

The STRIX Gaming Z270F lacks the integrated WiFi but comes with pretty much the same layout and same feature list.

The STRIX Gaming Z270G is a micro-ATX form-factor motherboard, which has a similar heatsink design but only comes with two PCI-Express 3.0 x16 and two PCI-Express x1 slots, but still packs the same high-end 8+2+1-phase VRM and integrated 802.11ac WiFi.

ASUS also did not forget its fabled TUF series, and the new TUF Z270 Mark 1, will get some high-end and durability oriented features like the Tough Inside, Thermal Armor, TUF Networking, TUF Audio, Ultimate Cooling and 24/7 Durability. It has a high-end 8+2+2-phase VRM, TUF Alloy chokes, TUF solid CAPs and TUF MOSFETs. It also includes a recognizable TUF Armor, that covers most of the motherboard, as well as the camo pattern and military color scheme.

The same source also included details for ASUS' Prime Z270-A motherboard that will be a part of ASUS' standard motherboard series. It will use a new blue and white color scheme but still pack all the high-end features like the 8+2+2-phase VRM, AURA RGB Sync, two M.2 slots and more.

ASUS was also keen to note that its entire Z270 motherboard lineup will be ready for Intel Optane memory and flash products that should launch sometime next week.
