Gigabyte shows enthusiast PSU at Computex

Part of the Xtreme Gaming lineup

Gigabyte is apparently getting even more serious about the high-end gaming PC market and in addition to graphics cards, it is working on a high-end power supply unit that will be a part of its Xtreme Gaming lineup.

While Gigabyte has already sold power supply units before, these were mostly entry- and mid-range level units but at 1200W, the new model is certainly aiming at a high-end market.

Spotted by Techpowerup.com, the new Gigabyte XP1200M features a fully-modular and single +12V rail design, 80 Plus Platinum efficiency rating, DC-to-DC switching and a 140mm fan for cooling. It also uses all-Japanese capacitors.

According to the source, the 1200W model might not be the only one in the lineup but there are no precise details on when we will see it officially announced or available on retail/e-tail shelves.
