Lian Li announces new CB-01 CPU liquid cooling block

First ever CPU water block from Lian Li

Lian Li, a company well known for its high-quality aluminum PC cases, has partnered up with cooling experts from Overclockers, UK, in order to create its first CPU water block, the Lian Li CB-01.

The cold plate part of the new Lian Li CB-01 CPU block is made of solid copper with nickel coating and a tin-cobalt final layer for extra cooling, durability and corrosion resistance, according to Lian Li. The top part is made of tanslucent acrylic block that visibly guides the coolant through micro-channels. The top also includes pre-drilled holes for 5mm LED lights.

The Lian Li CB-01 uses standard G1/4" thread which makes it compatible with most DIY liquid cooling compoents. The micro-channels inside the block have an area of 32.2x27.3mm and should provide greater overall surface area. While not the largest in class, these dimensions represent a balance between high restriction and high flow.

As far as support goes, the Lian Li CB-01 supports most modern AMD and Intel sockets, including Intel 2011/1366/1155/1156 and 775 sockets as well as AMD AM2+/AM3/AM3+/FM1/FM2 sockets.

The new Lian Li CB-01 liquid cooling CPU block is backed by a 1 year warranty and has MSRP of £44.90. It will be first available in the UK via Overclockers.co.uk by the end of December.
