Sapphire has released its newest member of the Radeon R7 series lineup, the Radeon R7 260X iCafe OC graphics card, aimed to be used in systems running less graphics-performance demanding games, like MOBA, Counter Strike and similar games.
Based on a well known AMD 28nm Bonaire GPU, the R7 260X packs 896 Stream Processors, needs a single 6-pin PCI-Express power connector and packs 2GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 128-bit memory interface. Sapphire has included a decent factory-overclock pushing the new R7 260X iCafe OC graphics card to 1050MHz for the GPU. The 2GB of GDDR5 memory was left at reference 5.0GHz.
In order to keep the 28nm Bonaire GPU well cooled, Sapphire has decided to use a plastic shroud which hides a copper core base with radial heatsink and an 80mm center placed fan.
The new Sapphire Radeon R7 260X iCafe OC graphics card should be soon available on retail/e-tail shelves with a price of around US $100.
