Three models for now

Made and designed for unmatched efficiency and power saving of up to 40 percent, the new MSI ECO series of motherboards will provide maximum performance with maximum compatibility with all 4th generation Intel Core CPUs and DDR3 memory, according to MSI. The new ECO Series will also feature Intel Gigabit LAN, SATA 6Gbps and USB 3.0 ports as well as a line of features that will make the MSI ECO Series one of the most efficient motherboards on the market.

The Guard-Pro and Military Class 4 components features are something that we already seen with other MSI motherboards but the ECO Series will also feature 40 percent power saving with ECO Tech Design and all new power saving PCB design.

The MSI ECO Series motherboard will come with ECO Center Pro, a software applications which will allow users to completely turn off the power to case fans, LEDs, PCI slots, LAN ports, and audio/video ports, in order to heavily reduce power usage. It will offer three modes, ECO mode, Lounge mode and the Server mode. The MSI ECO Series motherboard also come with the integrated ECO Button onboard as well as in the BIOS. The ECO Button will load the default ECO mode and start power saving without disabling any key functions.

The new ECO Series motherboards certainly sound interesting in case you are looking for a PC focused on power saving. Unfortunately, MSI did not reveal any details regarding the actual availability date or the price of the new MSI ECO Series motherboard lineup.
