When we compare the performance of the GeForce GTX 690 and the Radeon HD 7990 there isn't a clear winner. In some benchmarks one is better, and in others worse. It's clear, however, that you do need two GPUs for gaming on three monitors with high settings, so dual-GPU cards are definitely useful.
