Overclocking
For
our overclocking test we used the delivered software ASUS SmartDoctor. Of
course, with this kind of mainstream graphic cards, it's not possible to raise
the core voltage via software. Never the less we managed to overclock the card
by far more than 50 percent to a staggering 868 MHz on the Core and 1'138 MHz on
the memory. These clocks were 3DMark 11 stable which means that there neither
crashes nor artifacts. For the record: stock clocks are 550MHz (core) and 800MHz (memory)
so the overclocking potential of this card is more than 300 MHz on both core and
memory. Which allowed us to win 50 % performance over the stock HD 5550. From
1'000 points to 1'500 points, it's the first time ever for us to see a 50 %
improvement.
