Packaging

Corsair ships the ONE PRO system in a box that's been made from rather thick cardboard and another thick layer of foam keeps the system well protected, ensuring nothing is going to be damaged even if the shipment would be rough. The system is very compact and there are no internal parts that could be damaged during the shipping. All the components are well secured to the main structure of the case. In order to access to the internals of the Corsair ONE PRO, we have to remove the top panel and then remove four screws. After this both side panels can be detached to get a look at the interior of this system.

Exterior

The Corsair ONE PRO features a small case, measuring 20cm in width, 17.6cm in depth and 38cm in height. The enclosure itself is made from aluminum and although it’s very compact there is space for powerful components. Due to the compact dimensions very little space is necessary, which allows for placing the system on the desk. Apart from that the system is good looking and therefore it could also be put up next to a TV set. The design is pretty simple and clean. In our opinion the Corsair ONE PRO is very good looking and it could be placed in any environment. Like with a normal chassis, the motherboard connectors are placed at the rear while the front features a USB3.0 port and an HDMI connector for VR devices. On the back we find four USB 3.1 ports (one Type-C), two USB 2.0 ports and one PS/2 port. In addition there are two DisplayPort connectors and one HDMI 2.0 port. Last but not least there is an audio jack panel, one Gigabit Ethernet port and two threads for WiFi antennas.

Interior

Inside the Corsair ONE PRO there are powerful components. The system is based on an Intel Core i7-7700K processor sitting on a MSI Z270 motherboard next to 16GB of DDR4-2400 memory. This particular model has been equipped with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card. In order to meet Corsair’s demands, MSI has come up with a special version of their mini-ITX motherboard. All the components have been placed vertically. Looking at the system from the front, on the right side there are the power supply and the graphics card, while on the left side there is the motherboard. The graphics card is connected to the motherboard with a PCI-Express riser. Both sides have been equipped with a fanless  240 millimeter radiators, where one is in charge of cooling the CPU and the other deals with the heat from the GPU.  The fact that no fans have been attached to the radiators directly might sound odd at a first glance.

Cooling wise, there's a single 140mm ML-series exhaust fan, that’s been integrated into the top. The fans pulls the air in through the side panels to which the radiators are attached, therefore Corsair is making use of the chimney effect in a very efficient way, which the test results later in this review will confirm. Nevertheless we’d recommend to clean the side panels on a regular basis. Best case pressurized air is being used to remove dust that could potentially have a significant effect on the cooling performance. To make this process easier to users we would have liked to see dust filters in place, which could be pulled out in order to clean them.
