Conclusion

General + -
The Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti Black Edition did well in our tests, since it comes with a rather decent factory overclock and features an appropriately dimensioned Windforce 2X 400W dual fan cooler. In combination with this cooler noise produced is on a very reasonable level. The manufacturing quality is also convincing but since this is a competitively priced VGA, there's for instance no backplate. When it comes to clock speeds this is definitely one of the fastest GTX 750 Ti out there since the GPU Boost clock can go all the way up to 1'320MHz while running 3DMark Fire Strike.
Gigabyte is very proud of the fact, that they're able to deliver products, which have been burn-in tested for 168 hours before being shipped. In terms of a quality and reliability statement the maker is certainly sending out a very positive message to customers.

Cooling / Noise Level   + -
As noted earlier, the Windforce 2X 400W dual fan is a good cooler and it has been appropriately sized in order to keep this card at reasonable temperatures. It does a great job in keeping the graphics card cool way above its advertised Boost clock and there is not much more you could ask from it.

As far as the noise level goes, the GTX 750 Ti Black Edition is noiseless in idle and and subjectively silent under load conditions.

Performance   + -
Unfortunately we don't yet have another GTX 750 Ti to compare this card to. What we can say is that maximum Boost clock is almost 22% higher than the Boost clock you get with a reference GTX 750 Ti. Comparing this card to other cards we see the Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti Black Edition is almost as quick as a reference GTX 660.

Power consumption, that's where this card excels. The Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti Black Edition is very good in idle with power consumption of the entire setup at 39W. Under load, the new GTX 750 Ti Black Edition pulls just a mere 130Watts. Comparing this to the before mentioned GTX 660, that makes the system need 177 Watts, gives an impression on how energy efficient this card is.

Recommendation / Price   + -
Checking prices on Geizhals.at we found that this card will set you back at least 134 Euro. The cheapest GTX 750 Ti graphics cards are available these days for 116 Euro. In other words this means that Gigabyte is charging 18 Euro more for the 168 hours burn-in testing, a decent factory overclock as well as a dual fan custom cooler. Considering these improvements charging an additional 18 Euro is fair.

Should you be looking for a highly energy efficient graphics card for an entry level gaming PC, then you should consider the GTX 750 Ti Black Edition. On top of that this card is also perfectly suitable for crypto currency mining and since these card are pretested for an entire week by Gigabyte themselves, you can expect a highly reliable product.

We gave the GeForce GTX 750 Ti Black Edition from Gigabyte 4.5 out of 5 stars.
