Conclusion
If you are looking for a desktop
PC system which easy to use
for video and audio editting or some casual gaming,
the ASUS G10AC-1B is definitely not a bad choice. Despite the size, ASUS managed to squeeze some powerful components inside.
In our tests, the ASUS G10AC-1B proved to be fast and efficient. We tested the computer in various fields
and scenarios comparing the result obtained with our platforms using very similar,
if not identical, components. The scores obtained in the 3D environment, where the graphics card
is most important, in 2D environment where mainly the CPU does all the work as well as storage
tests, in order show that this is a
good product and in line with our results.
The temperatures measured in games and benchmarks are superior to most normal cases,
however, there is still room for improvement. As for storage, it features two 3TB SATA hard
drive which allows you to install enough games and applications as well as a 256GB
solid state drive for Operating System (Windows 8.1) and the recovery image.
We have found a couple of downsides on the ASUS-G10AC-1B, as in our opinion, the fan located on the CPU
cooler is simply too noisy. ASUS has used an OEM fan, which is not a PWM fan, and therefore the rotation speed remains constant at maximum speed. Other than that there are very tight bending radius on the SATA cables.
Last but not least there is the price of this PC. In Switzerland this configuration, but with only one 3 Terabyte hard drive can be bought for CHF 1647.- these day. Calculating the price for all components and operating system, we get CHF 1600.- If you now substract the price for one hard drive, then ASUS charges about CHF 150.- for assembling the machine, which is perfectly ok.

Overall, the ASUS-G10AC-1B is a neat little video/audio editting and gaming PC with good pricing.
