Alphacool NexXxoS XP3 Waterblock

With the Alphacool NexXxoS XP3, Aquatuning has a copper based cooler in its portfolio which offers decent cooling performance at a very competitive price point. The latter is being achieved by using a cost optimized manufacturing process. Furthermore the XP3 can look back to a long history. All the way back in 2004, Alphacool released their first NexXxoS cooler. Compared to the predecessor the NexXxoS XP3 features an improved flow rate as well better cooling performance. The cooler comes with an array of very thin micro-channels through which the water is being "shot". Those thin channels provide maximized cooling area for more efficient heat transfer. A closer look at the base plate shows that the surface has been lapped, but it doesn't haven an absolutely perfect finish.

Alphacool NexXxos UT60 360 Millimeter

The Alphacool NexXxos UT60 360 millimeter radiator is one excellent product. Alphacool is making sure, that absolutely everything is made from copper. Even the screws to attach the fans are made from copper to avoid galvanic corrosion. Certainly, such an amount of copper isn't cheap and in fact this radiator weights a whopping 1.7 kilogram and it received a perfect white paintjob on the outside, whereas for the fins you can see the copper shimmering through. The latter means, that the coating isn't to thick and therefore, the heattransfer should be as it can be. A closer look at the fins shows, that there are small slots, which cause a lot of vortex once the air passes through. This is yet another point that shows, this radiator is all about performance. In order to avoid air bubbles inside the oval water channels, there are two reservoirs, which equally flood the channels attached.
Checking the height shows that it measures 60 millimeter and it is therefore thicker than most other rads. When it comes to threads we find G1/4 inch ones. These are compatible to a wide range of fittings. Fans can be attached on both sides of the radiator, which means that you can install a maximum of six fans.
